Easter Outreach

Our Easter Outreach on Saturday went wonderful! Thank you all for your prayers.  It was really a big undertaking for us as a small church to pull off an event like this, but with the help of the team from Siegen we we're able to do it.

The Y.M.C.A building was available to rent on Saturday, so we were able to rent the entire property for this outreach.  We had Easter Egg hunts, soccer, live music, free grilled bratwurst of course and lots of games for the kids to play.  I think all the kids had a blast!

We had about 40 kids that came and at the end the families were all gathered together and we shared with them who we are and why we we're doing this event, to share God's love and the hope of Jesus Christ's resurrection.  This was a really wonderful experience and I think that we will have a better connection with our community after this.

Praise you God for the answered prayers and for helping us to really do somthing that blessed the people here in Münster.

Hallelujah He is Risen!  (He is Risen Indeed!)

Quick update...

Getting ready to hand out flyers in the city

We have been busy getting ready for the Easter festival and service this weekend. The team and us have handed out over 1,000+ flyers in and around the city. The girls today sewed about 20 bags and bean bags for crafts and games. As well as made the signs for the different game stations that are going to be at the festival. And the guys all went to work in the yard for a family that attends the church.

Tonight we had bible study....lets just say it was a full house!

We have been working hard which means we are sleeping well. :) Please continue to be in prayer, especially for the people who have received the flyers. Pray that God would be stirring up their hearts to come.

Thanks and good-night!

The team has arrived!

Hey everyone,
We are gearing up for our Easter outreach week and festival! Today the team from Siegen arrived. They are made up of about 12 high schoolers who are part of the youth group at Calvary Chapel Siegen. There are  3 guys and 6 girls. Their youth leaders, Simon and Michelle we know from CC Bible College. We are taking care of the 6 girls in our apartment here over the next week and the Waldrop's are housing the guys and Simon and Michelle. We are really excited to have them here and we are looking forward to doing some outreach to the city tomorrow. We will try to post the daily happenings. Please be praying for the team and us, that we would have lots of opportunities to share with people what Easter is all about... that Jesus is risen!!!

Our six girlies...

On another note...this past Saturday we had our second women's breakfast. It went great! It is really exciting seeing the ladies building relationships with each other. Each breakfast someones shares a little devo or encouragement about their walk with the Lord. I shared this time ...from Ezekiel 3:22-24. It was really encouraging for me just to be able to reflect on the things the Lord has been showing and working in me. The Lord is so faithful to speak to us and stand us on our feet!

Thank you all so much for you prayers, encouragements and support. We are so blessed by it all. May the Lord shower you all with His love and blessings! Enjoy this week of celebration of our Saviour

P.S. Hag Sameach! Tonight Pesach/Passover began!

BBQ and such...

Tonight our friends Judith and Rahel came over for a BBQ. Judith and Rahel are sisters and are part of our fellowship here in Münster. Judith has been away in London for the past few months as an exchange student. Having grand adventures as she bashes around the city I'm sure. We really miss her!! :(  But she was here in Münster for one day...and she came to see us!
Rahel (left) Judith (right)

For dinner we had grilled chicken wings...I made a homemade BBQ sauce from scratch. Which Simi after sampling the sauce, stuck his head inside from the balcony said "Becca, good sauce." Very matter of fact he was...I had to giggle, he spoke just like he knew all about BBQ sauces. SO CUTE!

Simi being cute!

With our meal we had mashed potatoes, salad, bread. And for dessert Nada made this fabulous lemon-coconut cake...it was amazing! And Judith and Rahel of course made their infamous desert...the Bloody Münster! I didn't get a picture of it but basically it has a berry filling and meringue topping. And since the berries leave a pinkish-reddish sauce...we named it the Bloody Münster.

Chris grillin' up some chicken...

We had a great evening catching up with the lovely sisters. Even though we are going to miss Judith loads at least we got to see her for a little bit! Love you girlie...hope you have an awesome time in London!

All of us!

And here is Levi...giving us the peace sign...a rising politician or rock star?...you decide...

Easter Outreach...

Hey Everyone,
We wanted to ask you all to be praying for our Easter outreach and service! A few weeks ago in our prayer meeting the Lord gave us an idea to do a family Easter festival. We are going to have an egg hunt for the kids (thanks Mom and Dad for sending all the eggs and jelly-beans), face painting, games and crafts. We are also going to give away free food and drinks! We already reserved the YMCA for the Saturday before Easter where this event is going to take place. And we have an outreach team coming from Siegen here all the week leading up to Easter as well as on that Saturday! Such a blessing! We have a lot to organize in the next few weeks and a bunch of things that need to be done...like making up flyers to distribute throughout the city, etc. Please be praying for this outreach to the city of Münster...pray that people would come. Pray that both the children and parents would be blessed and have an encounter with Jesus!

Also, we would like to thank all our supporters and those who gave financially this month. You all are amazing! As each month passes, we continue to be blown away by your generosity and support of our ministry here! Thank you all so much for your support and prayers...God is doing a new work in this city and you all are just as much a part of that as we are! He loves those cheerful givers and those prayer warriors! And so do we...may the Lord bless you all and keep you and make His face shine upon you!

A new age ...a new year...

Flowers from Paulie!

Yesterday was my 23rd birthday! It was a sweet day thanks to all my friends and family! I can't believe I am 23 years old....it is crazy how time flys!

My parents gift to me was a sewing machine and after church on Sunday Paul, Chris and Nada surprised me by taking me to a traveling Dutch fabric market! Which was amazing!!! I picked out a handful of beautiful fabrics and bought some thread so that I could get started! Here is the link where I had first found out about it months ago...I have no idea how Paul found it though! http://decor8blog.com/2009/09/23/fabric-market-fun/

Thanks Mom and Dad!
Here are my finds from the fabric market!

On my actual birthday, Paul took me to lunch at this new little place that just opened on the corner of our street. It's a "fake" Mexican joint...and while it may not seem like a big deal to many people...to us this is huge! Although they may not be authentic Mexican, at least it's something different. That's one thing I really miss about the US...all the amazing variety of foods. We were actually kind of impressed by Casa Mexicana...they had tortilla chips and salsa...that weren't half bad and they were free! The price is good...the place is clean...half a block from our house...I think that we are going to become regulars there!

After our "fake" Mexican lunch...Paul took me to this little place that also just opened on our street called Eis Cafe Italia. It is a little ice cream place run by an Italian family. Paul and I shared a banana split...it was fabulous!

Later on in the day the Waldrop's came by...they gave me this adorable traveling lunch box...which will be perfect for bike rides around Münsterland! Also, Carla and Zoe (Carla and her husband have been attending the church since the beginning and Zoe is their daughter who is 4) came by and Zoe gave me a beautiful arrangement of colored roses and Carla had written such a sweet note to me in English! Which was a huge accomplishment for her since English is not her first language! We all shared some laughs and I felt truly blessed!

The colored roses Zoe and Carla gave me!
The lunch box from Chris and Nada!

And to top it off I got to chat with my family and two of my best friends on skype last night! I had an amazing birthday! Thank you all for all your kindness and love! And thank you to all my friends for making my birthday here in Germany a memorable one! I Love each one of you!
